The Partnership is excited to announce different activities that will take place April 16 – 18. The Week of the Young Child is an annual festivity to celebrate early learning, young children, their teachers, and families.

Monday, April 16th

The week will kick off with the Pinwheel for Prevention Garden. At 7:45 am, ACPC staff, Anson County Domestic Violence Coalition and volunteers will place blue pinwheels in front of the court. Blue pinwheels are the national symbol for child abuse prevention. The pinwheel whimsy and childlike notions are reminders of the great childhoods we want for all children.

Tuesday, April 17th

NC Pre-K and Kindergarten students will present a parade at 10:00 am. Children will be decked out in their penguin costumes in honor of the play Mr. Popper’s Penguins performed by Children’s Theatre of Charlotte. There will be an evening performance at 6:00 free to the public. Guest are required to get a free ticket at the Partnership before attending the 6:00 performance. We highly encourage the public to come out and see the children in their parade at 10:00 am.

Wednesday, April 18th

The Partnership will present Special Me Storytime at 10:00 am in the Early Childhood Resource Center.  Children will hear a great book about diversity and the joys of being unique.  Following the story reading, children will get the chance to make crafts and end the morning with a light snack.

To end the evening families will have the chance to participate in Play Daze. Play Daze is to encourage children to get outside and play. Play Daze will be at Little’s Park from 4:00-6:00

We hope to see you all at these awesome events.
